ACTIVE CARBONS
DESCRIPTION
Fidia Engineering proposes, for completing the chemical and biological processes, physical processes that use the specific adsorption properties of activated carbons, providing specific chemical and physical processes. The activated carbon processes are used for organic substances's removal and for micropollutants such as insecticides, pesticides, heavy metals and various toxic substances, that overcome the barrier of chemical and biological processes. The purifying effect of the activated carbon is due to attraction surface phenomena, that are determined by the high active surface of the carbon, able to capture the particles of pollutants by adsorption.
We use powdered activated carbon in small and medium plants, as an adjuvant treatment to improve the efficiency of chemical and biological treatments. It may for example involve the ability of the biological processes in removing dissolved organic substances, with the capacity of activated carbon to adsorb not biodegradable organic colloidal substances.
The powder activated carbon is suitable for short and discontinuous or high-performing treatments. For other continuous plant or high potential plant is used carbon in granular form, less effective but cheaper, easily recoverable and reusable.
