FLUORIDES
DESCRIPTION
Fidia engineering proposes treatment plants for wastewater with high fluoride content (up to 500 mg/l). The systems that we offer are the result of experiences we made on wastewater from glass’s manufacturing and/or treatment factories, which use high amounts of hydrofluoric acid in the production processes.
However, each manufacturing site has its own peculiarities that need optimizations aimed for making the system more efficient and flexible, both for the chemical parameters and for hydraulic flow about each specific application.
Fluoride’s treatment usually includes an additive section, consisting of some tanks with metering pumps placed on a containment basin, an equalization section composed by a vertical tank with recirculating pumps, the precipitation of fluoride salts with the addition of flocculant and lime, followed by clarification making use of special settling system and then the final sludge treatment.
The plant is completed with a suction system of ammonia vents coming from main equipment, where a special suction fan flows the vents in a washing column and then in a dedicated final chimney.
HERE BELOW ARE LISTED DETAILS OF SOME PLANTS WE HAVE INSTALLED.
THE COMPLETE LIST OF EQUIPMENT INSTALLED BY FIDIA ENGINEERING SRL IS AVAILABLE UPON REQUEST.
TREATMENT PLANT FOR GLASS PRODUCTION COMPANY

Detail engineering, procurement and construction of physical-chemical wastewater treatment plant (water riches in fluorides) arising from glass’s acidification, giving particular attention in reuse the existing devices/technologies already installed.
New stations for chemicals preparation and dosing.
Optimization of existing treating sludge unit with the addition of a final "bag" filtration system.
Wastewater's average flow rate at treatment: 50 (max 100) m3/day. General assistance for revamping and managing the biological section of the existing system, for nitrogen compounds' removal from wastewater intended to be discharged into surface waters.
TREATMENT PLANT FOR GLASS PRODUCTION COMPANY

Final design, supply and installation of a complete plant for treatment wastewater from glass’s production and processing.
In particular:
- physical-chemical treatment for fluoride’s removal with flocculation, in a strongly basic environment (with dosage of lime, poly and an iron salt);
- removal of ammonia with column stripping (with carriers) with flushing of hot air in countercurrent;
- second stage for removal/finishing fluorides in acid range.
Maximum flow rate: 60 m3/day.
